Amarok podcast tease?

I am trying to get Amarok to download daily podcasts from this url:

http://www.kcrw.com/podcast/show/tu

It seems to work fine. Amarok pulls up a list of .mp3s to download. When I click on them they say they are downloading. It is only when I try to play them that there is problem. I get a demux plugin error. In an attempt to get to the bottom of the problem I found the directory where the .mp3s are downloaded to. They are there, but the are empty - file size is 0. What step am I missing?

democracy player is not yet in adept, but I installed ipodder and it works great. I just wish that I could do everything an amarok.
