Amarok hangs during playback using Kubuntu Edgy
Hello, I was wondering if anyone has experienced this problem before or knows of it and could help me out. I'm using Amarok on Kubuntu Edgy with alsa as my output plugin currently. The problem is that Amarok occasionally freezes during playback. Sometimes it takes about 30 minutes, other times it takes all day. I just don't understand the reason for this and have searched the internet for a solution, but could not find one. I tried switching the plugin to oss and then to arts, but the problem persists. Thanks for your help.

I had the same problem for playing FLAC files. I suggest using XMMS or even safer Audacious.

I uninstalled version 1.4.4 and installed version 1.4.3, but the problem is still there. Thanks for the suggestion, though, it did improve some other elements of Amarok. Has anyone else experienced this problem on 1.4.3, though? Please let me know, thanks.

That's odd....I'm running Kubuntu Edgy and I believe I have 1.4.4 running with no problems. I'll have to check on the exact version when I get home.
