I'm sorry for updating this thread dead so long ago, but i've reached the same problem.
I'm using Debian testing, with Amarok 1.4.9.1 and, with a clean install, dist-upgrade and after loading some songs in my playlist, it starts to play, and after some songs, it suddenly freezes, only answering to "killall amarokapp" (and sometimes, when amarok freezes, it blocks the keyboard, so i have to do it opening manually a terminal (konsole) and copy-pasting as i can the letters to write it.
For more info, this is the error:
$ *** glibc detected *** amarokapp: corrupted double-linked list: 0xb2e02728 ***
======= Backtrace: =========

/usr/lib/xine/plugins/1.23/xineplug_decode_vorbis.so[0xb43f4199]
I also have a memory map, which is quite long.
Any idea?
