I have to spend part of my time each day in Windows. The rest I usually spend in Linux (Arch). Often I have a bittorrent download running. Since I often am downloading to an external FAT32 hard drive partition writable by both Linux and Windows, I'm wondering if I can continue my torrent download when I switch from one OS to the other.

In other words, let's say I've downloaded 20% of a file under Windows using Bittorrent, then I want to leave Windows and boot into Linux. Is there a way I can have my Linux torrent client pick up where the Windows torrent client left off?

Yes, just point the Linux client to the downloaded files from Windows, it'll run a quick check on it to get it's bearings straight, and then resume from where you left off. You'll have to re-download the .torrent file into Linux first. I used to download the .torrent file to my pc so I wouldn't have to search for it again.
