alsaconf

hi!
i have installed the packages needed to run alsaconf (with apt-get), but when i wrote the command alsaconf in the root terminal the message is "command not found". What can i do? i have no sound in Linux.

not sure on suse, but on debian it includes some other packages (alsa-base, alsa-utils, and linux-sound-base)
also make sure you run alsaconf as root

thanks for the ideas but alsa-utils, alsa-base etc. installed. But i couldn't find a package like linux-sound-base with apt-cache search. I'm using Ubuntu.

hmmm, not sure what repositories ubuntu is using, but i found that package (linux-sound-base) in both testing and unstable on debian.org
here is a link to download the deb file. maybe this will help. it is the version from testing
http://packages.debian.org/testing/s...nux-sound-base
