Alsa Sound

HI... Im running RH9.0

Im new to linux to bare with me through this. Im trying to install my audigy drivers for rh9.0. Now it gets detected and installed but no sound. I belive this has something to do with me using the digital jack. Now i checked the mixer and i only get a volume bar for the mic. I downlaoded and installed the new alsa drivers... but i dont know how to get to run the mixer so i can turn on the digital jack. Also.. after i ran alsaconf and restarted... that part fails in the restart part... it says something about unresolved symbols. I remember reading about something liek that and that having to do with RH9.0 somehow.. but i dont remember where i read it. The weird thing is that when i go to sound card detection... and i try to play a test sound.. it says the drivers havent been loaded but then it actually does play the test sound. When i try to play mp3's with xmms (i run mp3's of my windows partition) the m3 finishes in liek 10 seconds... like it is fast forwading and also no sound. So could someone please help me with this... Thanks in advance!

Alsa

Well, you mention two mixers, and I am assuming the first is the one in your GUI? To run the actual alsa mixer, run the command 'alsamixer' at a command prompt. 'M' turns each channel on or off, and left/right arrows move you to a different channel. Up/down arrows increase/decrease volume. After you get out of alsamixer, run 'alsactl store' as root to store your settings permantly. Not sure if this is what you are looking for....

I had problems with my alsa [or maybe it was aRts] drivers too. In xmms under preferences set your driver to libOSS.so and see if that works. Or play with the sound drivers in the Control Center. If you dont' have that in your menu, then switch to kde in the login screen.

I have a similiar problem. I also have a sound blaster audigy which mandrake 9.2 (fivestar) configured allright . I can hear sound and xmms doesn't crash BUT i don't get any sound from the center speaker !! When i play dvd's (i've tried almost any player from mplayer to xine and even totem ) voice is supposed 2 come out from the center speaker. Instead i get music and sound effects from all the other speaker , but nothing from the center one ! I've tried kmix but there is no slider for rear nor center nor front speakers!

Here is my dmseg :
