ALSA settings not saved on shutdown

Hey

I use ALSA on Gentoo and I'm annoyed that it isn't saving my mixer settings when I shutdown. In order to restore then, I have to open the volume control and turn them on.

I installed in on my girlfriend's lappy and hers saves the settings.

Is there somethign i have to turn on?

Thanks
Hamish

No I ddin't do that!

What is it and how do I do it? If it is a program, then I don't have it install (at least I tried running it in shell and it didn't come up).

Thanks

The command in Redhat is
Code:
/usr/sbin/alsactl store
You may have to execute it as root

Open 2 Terminals, in one open Alsamixer and set your desired levels, then in the other terminal issue the above command while Alsamixer is still open

That's how I do it in Redhat, not sure about Gentoo
