ALSA module is used by "pid 3596"

Hi, I can't use my ALSA module, because it seems to be locked by an application. When I start KDE it says:

Error while initializing the sound driver:
device /dev/dsp can't be opened (Device or resource busy)

When I try to start the ALSA module in Drakxservices it says that the sound is used by pid 3596. How do I release this locked module?

Thanks a lot! I'm new to Linux, so I don't handle it so very good yet. But unfortunately some problems remains. When I restart KDE after killing these processes new processes are locking ALSA, so I have to kill them too. And there are a new message now that says "sound server suspended". I have tried to run artswrapper, but nothing happends. It just says:
>> running as realtime process now (priority 50)
What do I do now?

I ran alsaconf without installing a newer driver. My driver is 0.9.6.

# ./alsaconf
device_mode int, description "Device file permission mask for devfs."
which: no dialog in (/sbin:/usr/sbin:/bin:/usr/bin:/usr/X11R6/bin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/local/sbin)
which: no whiptail in (/sbin:/usr/sbin:/bin:/usr/bin:/usr/X11R6/bin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/local/sbin)
Error, dialog or whiptail not found.

I don't know what this means.

Maybe the problem is permissions? Try

su
password
chmod a+rw /dev/dsp /dev/mixer /dev/sequencer /dev/midi

I did that, and then I could run artswrapper, but it still says "sound server suspended", and new applications lock the ALSA module all the time.
