I am trying to install the alsa driver on suse 9.1 and im getting this error.

Im completely lost cause when i try to add libgcc from yast it says already installed.
any help is much appreciated.

you need to install the development packages to compile (not libgcc but gcc-3.x.x, g++-3.x.x, autoconf, automake, make, libtool, etc...)

you will not need all of those for compiling alsa but if you want to compile things in general you should install most or all of the software from the development section.

Where is it that i can download all of these files? If you could post a link it would be extermely helpfull cause im super noob and am not sure where to start.
