Alsa 0.9 on mandrake 8.1
 

Hello,

I am trying to upgrade to alsa 0.9 on Mandrake 8.1

I have installed all of the packages and alsa appears to start up and shut down correctly. However when I run pmidi -l i get the output:

Port Client name Port name
[root@fast init.d]#

so something is not working as there are no alsa ports.

It seems as though the problem is that snd-card-emu10k1 is not loading (I am using sblive) and modprobe snd-card-emu10k1 shows:
