all video related programs crash

I am using fc6 and any video related program I start crashes instantly upon attempting to play and file. this includes mythtv mplayer and xine.
mplayer crashes right after touching audio (last thing the command line displayes) and so do the other two. but at the same time amarok works and plays audio (using all outputs oss alsa arts). I think it may have something to do with the ivtv drivers, as this started after I tried to use them.
I dont know what to do, any ideas?

Also xine and mpayer stoped turning off after I manualy switched their video driver to something other than xv. Now they hang and even "sudo kill xxxx" doesn't kill them. I am able to get video in from my prv 150 but the audio is really messed up. there is a really loud screech and low audio in the background. This was able to be played before.
