all KDE menus gone !
Hi all,
after installing CX-Office, all my KDE menus are gone (I use KDE 3.1.x and the RedHat 9 distribution). Does anyone know where KDE has its start-menu items? I found some kind of default entries in /usr/share/applnk-redhat/ , but if I copy all of the items (and make them chown username . of course) to ~/.kde/share/applnk-redhat, nothing happens - means, the items continue to disappear ...! After creating a test user, I found out that he has all necessary menu entries available, but no ~./kde/share entry at all! So this has to mean that the menu entries are somewhere else ... Has anyone got a hint or help for me? I would greatly appreciate it!! Sincerely Dennis |
what do you mean by all gone? can you see the kde start menu?
no? just add it to your panel, right click panel, add > special button> k menu. if you can see you're k start menu, then you'd better create your own menu through menu editor in control panel, u can simply copy from the .kde of other user and edit it. try to access the start menu first using alt-f1 (default key for k menu) |
