Angry After Mandrake 9.0 Install - Error

After a new install Linux Mandrake (Dolphin) 9.0, I got a message on the screen that said " You passed an undefined node number." If you let it go 30 secs it boots into the text mode only. I cannot get it to go into GUI mode.

I have attempted to setup the GUI with FXdrake, but with negative results. I get messages that the config is no good.

Here is my info:
Gateway 300S 2.0 Celeron Processor; 512 Meg Memory
Bios Intel RG84510. 15A.0021
Graphics Intel 82845G 1024x768 pixels 16million colors
Monitor is Viewsonic VX500 Flat Panel 15"

I would appreciate help with this please. No matter what Linux app Suse, Red Hat, I load I have the same problem.

Help Please !!!!!!!
Joe

After install? As in, you managed to get the graphical install program to work? Or did you use text-based then too?

Install Error

It installs and I get the Root Login prompt. I executed the XFdrake program, but I still cannot get the Config to work with my Video/Resolution.

Thanks for the info

I was able to load the Linux using VMWare. Once loaded I was able to do whatever I wanted plus the video is 1024 x 768.
Thanks for all the help....Joe
