Advice/opinions for router/proxy/content filter
Hi all,
I'm searching for alternatives for a commercial application that does this job currently but has a lot of problems and is not updated anymore.
When I set it up back then, I had no knowledge of linux so it was the obvious path. In the meantime, this has changed a little and I think for this goal, a linux box would be better.
This is what I need:
1) router that handles a PPPoE session of bridged modem
2) proxy, firewall & content filter with different levels of access for users
3) vpn (guess this is not a problem since I have configured this on debian before)
4) preferably a GUI for management (can webmin do the job?)
I guess that starting with for example debian would be quite a challenge but I'm afraid that would take to long and not sure I will get to what I need.
Is there a *nix based solution that does all this 'out of the box'?
So all your suggestions are very welcome.
TIA!
