advice needed

I have just started running Suse 9.1 on my duel boot pc, But i think ive have only got the eval version as i comes on just one disk, So its missing a lot of rpms and other stuff like compilers and such, So i thought i would upgrade to Suse 10.0 open source as it has a more full app list including more rpms and hopfully a c compiler that works. So i wanted to know if i was possible to upgrade rather than re-format and do a fresh install as i dont want to have the hassle of having to set up the duel boot again as yast cocked it up first time round for me leaving me to sort out the prob. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Regards, Quark

Once you've got SusE installed, you can use Yast Online Update to add packages that you didn't install during the installation. All the compiler/development packages, Window Managers, daemons, and so on are available through Yast.

That said, when you boot a SusE CD/DVD, there is an option to upgrade rather than format and start from scratch. If you wish to go that route, all your information should be safe but its always a good idea to backup any critical data you've created.

I'd suggest using Yast to install those packages that your missing rather that download SusE 10 install CDs, but whatever floats your boat. Good luck
