advice for ext2 windows driver

Looking for a recommendation for an ext2 driver for windows. These are the ones I have found so far:
If you don't mind, could you tell me this about your recommendations? (I'm already aware of #3 for Stephan Schreiber's driver).
  1. If you create files in linux on ext2fs to the effect of rw- --- ---, will the files be readable/writable from windows?
  2. If you create files in linux on ext2fs, then read/write them from windows, will the permissions get changed, or the file otherwise get damaged?
  3. If you create files in windows on ext2fs with default attributes, what will be the resulting permissions as viewed from linux?
  4. If you let windows touch your ext2fs too much, will it cause the partition to become fragmented?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Personally, I avoid ext2 drivers for Windows because I don't want Windows EVER touching my linux filesystem. It seems like disaster waiting to happen. I use a shared FAT32 partition when needed.

Yeah, that's what I originally thought of doing. However, since fat32 can't store owner, group, everyone style permissions, that means that either every file would have to have the x bit or no files could have it, correct?

What I'm really trying to do is multiboot bsd, slack, and xp, and use the remainder of my HD for /home, so that it can be used properly from bsd/slack, and still be accessible from xp.

I use extfsd and have had no issues yet---but then Windows is only running maybe 3% of the time...
