Adobe lightroom type application for Linux

Hello everyone. I have a Canon Rebel XTI and I am getting into shooting raw. I have been using Lightroom on my Mac for some time now and I was wondering if there was a program like lightroom for linux. I know about RAW studio, but the main idea behind it from what I understand is that you bring in the raw file, then do some edits, then export it to tiff. I want it to be something like lightroom, where it keeps everything in RAW and simply edits the RAW stuff. Then I found f-spot and it can organize raw stuff really well, but when I try to open it in GIMP, GIMP can't seem to read the raw file. What am I doing wrong. I think f-spot with a GIMP that can read and use RAW files correctly would be fine. How would I get good RAW support in the GIMP though?

Thanks,
Joe

well, I found that digiKam's RAW support is excellent, so I think that combined with the ufraw plugin I will be able to do everything I want to, unless someone else has a better idea.

That really depends on what exactly you're going to do - if you're planning to do image manipulation more than once in a while, just install Gimp (I recommend pre 2.4, don't bother with 2.2), add the separate+ and ufraw plugins, but also have a krita and Image Magick at your side.

None of the three is perfect, but all put together cover rather many image manipulation tasks.
