Adobe flash player 11 installed, but Firefox won't recognize it
Hello guys,
I've installed the latest adobe-flash-player on my RHEL 6.4, and I have it now in my "System > Preferences > Adobe Flash Player" so it must be correctly installed. Problem is that Firefox doesn't recognize it. trying "about:plugins" in firefox doesn't list any plugins. //Firefox output No installed plugins found Find updates for installed plugins at mozilla.com/plugincheck Help plz |
How did you install?

hi EDDY1
Yes, those are the same instructions as I've taken. //output (for double-checking) rpm -ivh http://linuxdownload.adobe.com/adobe...0-1.noarch.rpm Retrieving http://linuxdownload.adobe.com/adobe...0-1.noarch.rpm Preparing... ########################################### [100%] package adobe-release-x86_64-1.0-1.noarch is already installed //output 2 yum install flash-plugin Loaded plugins: product-id, refresh-packagekit, security, subscription-manager This system is not registered to Red Hat Subscription Management. You can use subscription-manager to register. adobe-linux-x86_64 | 951 B 00:00 epel/metalink | 5.1 kB 00:00 epel | 4.4 kB 00:00 epel/primary_db | 6.3 MB 01:06 google-chrome | 951 B 00:00 rpmforge | 1.9 kB 00:00 testing-1.1-devtools-6Server | 951 B 00:00 Setting up Install Process Package flash-plugin-11.2.202.406-release.x86_64 already installed and latest version Nothing to do Just one question: Does it matter if I do those steps as 'root' user, while I run firefox as another user? I do all my installations as user 'root' .. It just sounds like good practice. |
