Adobe 7 Plugin + Firefox Problem

I've gone through the entire process of installing the Acrobat 7.0 Reader and the plugin with the script. It doesn't work, though; it just returns this error when reading a PDF file:
Code:
*** glibc detected *** free(): invalid next size (fast): 0x90fdbe0 ***
What can I do to fix this?

Are you able to run Reader as a helper application instead of as a plugin? I had a problem with running the plugin a while back that was fixed by upgrading a couple libraries - I can't remember at the moment exactly which ones, but there's a thread on Adobe's site that has the info - if I find it I'll post it here.

Edit: See craigevil's post below.
