additional packages for Conky

what additional packages are required for Conky on an external SSD drive? Does it need CURL, LM-SENSORS, HDDTEMP?

same a regular install. The drive for the OS isn't gonna matter.

depends on what your conkyrc has in it.
for a full-featured conky experience now or in the future (conky is like that!)
I'd install those.

and install conky-all for the "newer" LUA-based conkies.

SSD drive has no temperature sensors, so Hddtemp utility can not be useful here?

If SSD drives support S.M.A.R.T. ...

Code:
man hddtemp
says
Code:
hddtemp will give you the temperature of your hard drive by reading Self-Monitoring Analysis and Reporting
Technology (S.M.A.R.T.) information on drives that support this feature. Only modern hard drives have a
temperature sensor. hddtemp supports reading S.M.A.R.T. information from SCSI drives too. hddtemp can
work as simple command line tool or as a daemon.
SSD Drives are definitely "modern" so it's a safe bet.

I tried conky configuration attached. I have a few problems, not show cpu and hdd temp.

[1] 2868
Conky: can't open '/sys/class/thermal/thermal_zone0/temp': No such file or directory
Conky: desktop window (1600003) is subwindow of root window (2ad)
Conky: window type - normal
Conky: drawing to created window (0x2200002)
Conky: drawing to double buffer
Conky: could not connect to hddtemp host
....

the SMART not available:

hddtemp /dev/sdb
/dev/sdb: KINGSTON SV300S37A60G: S.M.A.R.T. not available

How to make conky window transparent on desktop?
