Thanks for the reply,
The Current Status is this way,

I have finished with the compiling of vpopmail and qmailadmin and they are done. I have also created mailboxes for various domains and they are receiving mails from the Worlds.

Now my problem is that i am not able to login Qmail or SquirrelMail for the new mailbox i created with vpopmail, when i log into qmailadmin it says "Invalid Login" though the info is very correct, even i am not able to login to SquirrelMail Why ?

The new mailboxes that i created are in the MailDir format and i am using Cyrus Imap server which i suppose can't read maildir
formats, so right now i am working on getting my mailboxes to login to qmailadmin or most important is SquirrelMail.

Can Anybody help me with this ?

Regards,

Two things come to mind on that, can you log in as a real system account, like on my server my username is marcus can you log into the imap, or squirrelmail with a regular user? If you can then your imap server is not using the vpopmail, second when you are logging into the imap useing the full email address for the username, like marcus@somewhere.com, and then the last question is what is the name of the domains in you vpopmail, did you add them as example.com or mail.example.com if you set them as mail.example.com then when you log into squirrelmail you have to log in as user@mail.example.com

I don't know about the support for Cyrus Imap, I have never used it so I can't be of much help in that area.

Keep the questions coming :-)

Thanks for the reply,

Now i am able to login to Qmail admin so that'sver i fixed it up. But now here is the details.

I have real user account which works with SquirrelMail, I login to Squirrelmail as
user: admin
pass : admin
this is my real user account which works perfect.

Now that i have created mail accounts with vpopmail and which wroks with Qmailadmin are all in MailDir format.

So what i want is the mail accounts that are created with vpopmail should be able to login to squirrelmail and should be able to send and receive mails thorough SquirrelMail.

Here i am lil confused on how to configure this ?

Thanks Again for the Help!

Regards,

What was the configure line you used to install cyrus? I was just on there site and there howto showed this as there configure line:

./configure --with-auth=unix

That would not let you use vpopmail, when I compiled courier-IMAP I had this in my configure line:

./configure --with-authvchkpw

That let me log in via vchkpw which is what vpopmail uses, you will have to tell cyrus to use vchkpw, Like I said above I have never used cyrus so I can't tell you what exactly to do there but I think your problem is with cyrus not talking to vpopmail.

there is a way you can test vckpw but I can't find it at the second, I will post back if I find it.

I really am probably not the one to tell you how to get rid of cyrus, but here is what I would do:

Your accounts are all either system or mysql from what I understand so your imap server will have nothing to do with them or there mail, I think all you have to do is stop cyrus from running, (check and remove the startup scripts for it) then you can just compile courier-IMAP and put in the startup scripts for it. As long as cyrus is not running it shouldn't interfere with courier.

If you end up doing that follow the instructions on:

Hello All,

RedHat 7.3
Apache 1.3.27
PHP 4.3.1
Qmail
SquirrelMail 1.0.4
qmailadmin 1.0.20
vpopmail 5.3.20
Cyrus Imap.

The above is my setup.

I have created mail accounts for my virtual domain with vpopmail and they
are working fine with QmailAdmin.
When i try to login to SquirrelMail which is on SSL and uses Cyrus Imap
server It simply Says "Incorrect Username/Password".
I have checked the username and passwd they are perfectly correct and i can
login with the same to qmail admin.
Here i want to mark a point that these mail accounts are created with
vpopmail and are in MailDir format. How how do i enable the working of my
mail accounts with Cyrus ?

Please put me on a correct path.

Regards,

Resolved!!

I compiled Sqwebmail which is an Excellent WebMail App and supports only MailDirs which solved all my probs. Now my real accounts use SM and the mail accounts created with vpopMail uses Sqwebmail for Sending and Receiving Mails.

Thanks All of you and Specially cli_man who helped me in solving my Problem.
