Adding FTP users in vsFTP
 

I'm fairly new to linux, so bare with me. Basically I would like to create a new user with ftp access to this directory: /var/www/html

Sounds fairly simple but I've been unable to get it to work.

did a little searching and figured it out.. now to figure out how to add write access

anyone know how to change permissions on a dir to allow write.. i did chmod 777 but it didn't work.

There is a section in vsftpd.conf that specifically deals with upload permissions. If you have uploads disabled then nobody will have write access.
