Thumbs up Adding audio support

Hi all,
I want to develop an application which reads the audio from a tv tuner card and writes the same as output to the sound card. That is how to add audio support in the application ? I will use "V4l2" driver to talk to the tv tuner card. But how to redirect the read audio to the sound card ? (/dev/dsp). That is when I start the application I should hear the sound in the speaker. I executed "Xawtv" Tv viewer without any problem. It works fine. I asked the aforesaid doubt because I want to develop an application of my own.
