I have just installed the acrobat reader 9 on my Mandriva Linux 2008. It works fine, but don't print any document. All other applications print fine.
I am using an HP Deskjet 1100C connected trough an usb,
linux 2.6.22.19-desktop-2mdv
cups-1.3.6-1.4mdv2008.0.i586
I turned on cups debug and got the following errors when printing
-------
Process dying with "Error closing renderer", exit stat: 3
error: Bad file descriptor (9)
[Job 31] Error closing renderer
PID 506 (/usr/lib/cups/filter/foomatic-rip) stopped with status 3!
-------
I have found past posts with similar subject, but didn't find any solution.
Can any one out there help me on this.
Adobe 9 has issues with printing in general in my experience. I would roll back to a previous version or try to get the latest updats. 9.1 does not seem to have the issues.
Create an additional printer entry in CUPS for the HP1100 but use the Generic>Generic PCL 5c Printer Foomatic/hpijs (recommended) (en) driver instead, check that a test page prints OK.
Assuming a good test page try using this printer for Acrobat Reader.
