Accessing samba shares through dos boot disk

Hello all,

Here's my situation...

We have a linux server set up (hostname = linuxserv), running samba, and the computers in our lab can see the shares just fine, but doing \\linuxserv and smb://linuxserv. That's not a problem.

We have this dos network boot disk called "Bart's Network Boot Disk" that allows us to connect to shares on the network through a little dos program. We run the program, and we can map to other windows shares, and we can map to the Samba shares on my MDK9.1 laptop no problem, however we can't map to anything on the LInuxserv box.

I know this may be kind of a vague description of the problems, and if anybody wants specific information I can and will provide it. But does anybody know why this software will work on my laptop's shares, but not our server's shares?

Thanks in advance.
