Accessing my ntfs drives

How do I go about it? I'm running redhat 7.2, just installed yesterday for the first time.

Hello there,

I asked the same question the other day, look at this link :

http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...ghlight=salman

Basically what you (and me :-) need to do is to recompile our kernel and select the NTFS File System support (Read Only Mode).

I am successful until the phase where I can do make xconfig and select this flag but my kernel rebuild is not getting along as I am getting an error message.

By the way I am using the procedure of kernel rebuild which is safe and will not destroy my existing kernel as described in the link at
http://www.linuxdoc.org/HOWTO/Kernel-HOWTO-2.html

Anyway try yourself, good luck !

Note : The procedure given by someone in response to my question is also correct for kernel rebuild but it is doing all in one step, so that in my opinion may crash your existing kernel .. so take care !

Obla di Obla da (Life goes on)

10-4 buddy. I spent last night reading that, woke up this morning (well, actually 1pm, but who's counting) and got your reply. Thanks. I talked one of our unix admins at work to walking me through a new kernel compile.

You may find it as funny as I do, but I was reading some other threads and somehow replied to you in a sperate thread....threw the previous guy off a bit, which I can understand: http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...7366#post37366

Just scroll down a few replies.....
