Access Violation???

Finally got Gentoo up and running from a stage1 tarball (yay!), installed X, kde, etc...
Now trying to install ltmodem, so I do 'emerge ltmodem' and it runs through it's stuff but then it stops and I get
Quote:
ACCESS VIOLATION SUMMARY
LOG FILE = ""
open_wr: /var/local/lib/rpm/__db.001
I have no idea what this is/means, any hep would be appreciated.

" ACCESS VIOLATION SUMMARY

My guess is that a user (or root) tried to write to a file called /var/local/lib/rpm/__db.001 and the user does not have write permissions for that file. Take a look at the permissions for /var/local/lib/rpm/__db.001 with:
ls -l /var/local/lib/rpm/__db.001
and see what you can find out.

I think that the Gentoo forums are much more suited to help with a problem like this.
