Accesing a config file


I need to acces a config file, but it says Acces denied if im root or not root, i need to edit it to install some programs correctly.

A little more info is required.

What config file? How are you trying to edit it?

/home/david/.wine/config
it says that i have to remove a semicolum ( to install Photoshop using wine
Btw. im using debian if that makes a difference

you should be able to open it from the .wine directory with something like vim:

vim config

what are the permissions for the file:

cd .wine
ls -l

try vi instead of vim:
