about wine


ok, so i finally got wine installed. but now i haven't a clue how to get it to run.. what command do i type in the terminal? or whatever.... help...

been a while since i've used it, but i think u just need to type this:

wine <location of program u want to run>

that location may be in Windows format though (c:\\blah\\blah.exe)

I also suggest running the wine config script (if it came with the package you installed). It's a nice GUI with really easy to follow instructions.

I think the command is "winesetup", but if you don't have it, you'll have to download it separately. Check out www.winehq.com for more info...

I think I saw a link to that script on http://spazioweb.inwind.it/nonsolomicrosoft/wineen.html

Sorry I can't give you a better answer, I don't use this script anymore.

Lets say you have like 'setup.exe' for photoshop hanging out in your home directory, could the setup run/install then execute app?
