You're saying that the sound goes too fast when using the mPlayer plugin to view a website with MP3s?

Do MP3s on your hard drive play normally in mPlayer? Do the sites play normally using another browser? I have no problems with Firefox, for instance.

I checked the mplayerplug-in site (http://mplayerplug-in.sourceforge.net/index.html) and didn't see anything related to this problem, but you might want to go to The plugger testing grounds to begin to check out whether this is a browser issue, a website issue, or a plugin issue.

Reopen mozilla and type about:plugins in the address bar. Is mplayerplug-in listed? Is it enabled?

Does your PC generally play MP3s normally? I don't remember if FC 1 comes with mp3 support out of the box. If not, that may be the reason for the crash.
