Abi Word Question...
Hi,
I have Slack 9, and I recently decided to try WindowMaker insted of KDE. I added abiword to the dock. When I try to start it i get a message that AbiWord cannont find any local fonts in its fonta path...because I invoked it without the shell. Is there any way around this, or should I just type abiword in the command prompt, which isn'r really a problem Thanks |
abiword fonts
You could start a script which sets the font path and then starts abiword.

That is how abiword is setup, BTW: a script that sets the fontpath (and a few other things), and then runs the binary.

Thanks

Missing fonts
I have a problem too, with Slack 9 and AbiWord.
When I start AbiWord as root, everything works OK, but when I start as a user, all the fonts/texts are missing in the menues, tooltips and so on. I just got a dotted square instead of a letter. The program works well even without the fonts, so I feel that it could be a "permission-problem" or something. I start AbiWord with the link in /usr/local/bin/AbiWord, that was created during installation, this will run the script for starting AbiWord. Any ideas are most welcome... |
