a thunderbird question...

hi i've just started using thunderbird as ma mail client... everything has so far gone smoothly except for one annoying issue...

being with a British isp the mail received date is logged in dd/mm/yyyy format... how ever thunderbird assumes that this is a mm/dd/yyyy date format.

so for example....

a message received on the 'first of October 2004' .... should show as 01/10/2004 however in thunderbird the date is shown as 10/01/2004... so when messages are sorted using the date it was received... it totally messes it up... as thunderbird thinks the day digits in date as the month digits...

thanks in advance...

got it sorted out by ...

bash$ export LC_ALL='en_GB.ISO_8859-1'

the dates are now in the dd/mm/yyyy format...

now just gotta add it to ma .bashrc and it should be permanent...
