Hi... I feel rather uncomfortable to say this... but recently I had the need to edit a gnome .desktop file, so I asociated it to gedit under the Open with --> menu. After that all of my launcher icons and desktop icons open with gedit of course... so I thought... I want the CD-Rom Icon to be opened with Nautilus, right? So why not associate it with Nautilus rather than gedit?
and I did so... I could have been better off with that
Now if I click any of my desktop icons I cannot open them neither with Nautilus nor gedit... So I figured that there should be a configuration file where these kinds of data are stored as a per user MIME-settings... my question here is WHERE?? I've found that the file ~/.gnome/mim-info/users.mime contains what MIME-settings for a speciffic user, but this file is automatically generated whenever you start a new session, so where are the global settins so I can override (or delete) the default (edited) action and restore the normal behavior?
Thanks in advance.
