Unhappy A problem with RH9 and an onboard soundcard

Hello

A few weeks ago I installed RH8 and although RH8 detected my soundcard as VT82cxxx_audio I had no sound until I installed the Alsa drivers for my on-board soundcard(via8235).

Now I have RH9 and when i open "Soundcard Detection" my soundcard is detected as VT82cxxx_audio and when I click the "Play test sound" button the test sounds plays normally(except for the first time after login, then the sound comes after 20 sec. or so) and when sound events (like minimize) happen, the sound plays normally. However, when I try to use an audio player (like XMMS) to play an OGG or a MP3 file it only plays the first second of the track.

Can you help me??

Thanks in advance,
