a problem about gnome, help me!

When I install a software ,I typed :

./configure

It stops at this :

Requested 'gnome-vfs-2.0 >= 2.8.3' but version of gnome-vfs is 2.8.2

So I find a gnome v2.12 livecd ,it 's 618M. So Big ? Am I right ? If I must this CD ?

Give us more details.

Which Linux are you using?
Which software are you trying to install?

Did you upgrade your GNOME?

Sorry, but I can't help you.

Maybe, you should ask Red Hat for support (Because you are using an Enterprise Class OS.)

Moreover, you could have also tried asking in the Linux-Enterprise Section of this Forum.

naihe2010, i hope that i got you right, but it very difficult to understand what you're trying to say. Your spelling/grammar could be better ;-) .

Have you tried updating the aforementioned software (gnome-vfs, was it?)? Is it a recent version of Screem you're trying to install?

I don't know what you're trying to do with that liveCD of yours, but i'm just about certain that you wont need it for this.

Kind Regards Bjerrk

the 2.12 livecd is a full linux distro, it is basically ubuntu IIRC.

there may be 2.8.3 packages for gnome-vfs available. if there are it is wise to upgrade whether you install screem or not as it will fix a nasty data corruption bug with ftp transfers where binary files would be transfered in ascii mode.
