1) Can metacity be made to use edge resistance with desktop boundaries?

2) How do I add a Vi application launcher to the Gnome panel ( I have tried to launch it and select run in terminal but it complains - I cannot see where to set the working directory in configuration editor)

3) How do I add missing icons to the new items that are showing up in the gnome menus as I install them (for example vmplayer has shown up and runs from the gnome menu but is missing its icon even though I have it I don't know where it goes.)
