a complaint against ardour

i would love ardour, and only use it IF it could easily record mono tracks. i can record guitar on either left or right only, its MONO. my analog synthesiser and alot of other audio equipment is mono. im writing this complaint to let the ardour team know what musicians are looking for. im looking for a "mono track" button next to the track record, playlist, automation, edit group, mute, and solo. i would like it to EASILY record mono, and play the mono over both speakers, so im not working at the studio of the guy with out the right ear.

thanks!

Ok...why are you posting it here? Did something on the Ardour site point you here, because I didn't see anything on their site, indicating they checked here for user feedback.

They have a link on their site, so users can request features, so I'd suggest you use that. If not...grab the source code, and do it yourself, and help everyone out.

i dont know how to edit source manually =( i know what im talking about is as easy as setting each channel to pipe into the other an equal amount of sound as the original line has.

as in the right is silent, but the left isnt. right inserts silence into the left track, doing nothing, and left inserts its waves into right, solving the problem that im complaining about.

a copy left channel to right channel, and copy right channel to left channel would also work.

Can't you copy one channel to the other after the fact? I believe you can in audacity.

Ok...then please visit their site, and check out the support page, and list of requests, to see if this is being addressed. If not, request it.
