post the output of...

Code:
uname -a
That will tell us the kernel version you are running.

It appears, and I COULD be wrong, that you are missing the modules path for the version of the kernel you are running.

For example... if you are running 2.6.17 then there should be a /lib/modules/2.6.17 folder on your system.

So for haha's please also post the output of...

Code:
ls -l /lib/modules/

[root@localhost source]# uname -a
Linux localhost.localdomain 2.6.17-1.2145_FC5smp #1 SMP Sat Jul 1 13:19:14 EDT 2006 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux

[root@localhost source]# ls -l /lib/modules/
total 16
drwxr-xr-x 5 root root 4096 Jul 5 22:09 2.6.15-1.2054_FC5smp
drwxr-xr-x 6 root root 4096 Jul 7 13:09 2.6.17-1.2145_FC5smp

And there is 'stuff' in the 2.6.17... folder:

[root@localhost /]# cd lib
[root@localhost lib]# cd modules
[root@localhost modules]# cd 2.6.17-1.2145_FC5smp/
[root@localhost 2.6.17-1.2145_FC5smp]# ls
build modules.ccwmap modules.isapnpmap modules.symbols
extra modules.dep modules.ofmap modules.usbmap
kernel modules.ieee1394map modules.pcimap source
modules.alias modules.inputmap modules.seriomap updates
[root@localhost 2.6.17-1.2145_FC5smp]# cd build
[root@localhost build]# ls
[root@localhost build]#

PS - How do you put in those code boxes in your posts????

See, the build folder is actually a symlink to your kernel source area which is usually /usr/src/linux-version

You need to obtain and install the kernel sources for the version of the kernel you are running. That will extract the sources into the right location. If you cd into your modules folder and do 'ls -l' you will see that the build folder is a symlink and it will tell you what path it is linked to.

Once you obtain the kernel sources you will be able to build the ieee802.11 subsytem.

To put code boxes use the following tags:

Type what you want between the tags and it will look as such in my post.
