802.11b in kernel 2.6

will the 2.6 kernel suport 802.11b wireless more than 2.4

cause i have a 802.11b USB wireless adapter that has the prism2 chipset (lucky me), anyways there isnt suport in the kernel for USB 802.11b devices and that patch at http://www.linux-wlan.com/ (which is suposed to suport USB 802.11b adapters) doesnt work. it gives me the message that my kernel headers are present but the source isnt there.

this is after downloading the kernel source and this patch twice fearing that it was flawed somehow.

so im gona give up and wait if 2.6 will do 802.11b on USB for me.
