8 Viruses found in Ubuntu 9.10 by ClamTk, but where?

Hi,
Just for grins, I installed the ClamTk Linux virus scanner. When I ran it on my home directory, it allegedly found 8 viruses, but it won't tell me which files it thinks are viruses.

Quarantine -> status says no items are quarantined. Quarantine -> maintenance is blank. View -> histories is blank. What good is knowing that you have 8 viruses if you can't see them or dispose of them?

Tracking cookies are often defined as viruses. Email attachments can also carry viruses, most often written for windoz or outlook.

Am I ignoring a real security threat or is Clam just freaking out?

Thank you,

BrianP

I'd say search LQ and read a few threads about viruses. You'll find it most likely is the latter. Also note there is no "ClamTk Linux virus scanner" as ClamTk is just a front-end for ClamAv which BTW isn't among the best AV scanners around. Reading LQ threads on the topic would also show you in which cases you would or wouldn't need an AV scanner. If ClamTk doesn't provide logs then use 'clamscan' with the "--verbose --log=/home/brianpbarnes/clamscan.log" args.
