64-bit mplayer and win32 codecs

I have a Mandriva 2007 Spring for x86_64. I have the 64-bit mplayer installed.

I searched for the codecs win32-codecs and real-codecs, but I found them only in the i586 repositories. So I installed the 32-bit packages with these codecs.

Will these 32-bit codecs work with the 64-bit mplayer? If yes, do you now a way to test them?
I could not find any answer in the official mplayer website.

Thks.

OK, I found a way for doing the test, at least for the real-codecs.

I downloaded a .rm file
I tried to play it with the 64-bit mplayer (the 32-bit real-coded installed).
I could hear the sound, but I couldn't see the video.

Then I uninstalled the 64-bit mplayer, and I installed the 32-bit one. I didn't touch the real-codecs.
Now I could play the .rm file perfectly.

Hence I know that my real-codecs are working with the 32-bit version, but not with the 64-bit one.

Now, the question becomes:
Is it a configuration problem, or, simply, it is impossible for them to work with the 64-bit mplayer?
