I'm curious though, what distro are you running, and what programs are running as well? I've got a AMD 64 3700+, but am too scared to try 64 bit. Especially since I'm using windows binaries for my integrated WiFi (its a laptop, and the binaries work via a program called ndiswrapper which turns the windows kernel calls from the wifi driver into native linux kernel calls--sweet program.)
I use SuSE 9.1 64 bit and ndiswrapper is not at all usable. Aside from that and the flash issue, most everything else is great. I did have to use the older 32 bit version of flash.
It won't be long before everything will be in a 64 bit version, but I would suggest most people stick with 32 bit for a bit longer unless they are into development
