550 relaying to <user@host.com> prohibited by administrator
Hi there,
I decided to get a new web server up and running, debian sarge 3.1 based. I decided to go with qmail for the mailserver and followed qmailrocks.org instructions...everything went fine and i was able to send and receive e-mails fine until today. I keep receiving the following error everytime i try sending an e-mail to a remote adress: 550 relaying to <user@host.com> prohibited by administrator I checked the rcphosts along with the virtual domains & everything seems fine...the smtp authetication is also enabled... any ideas and help would be greately appreciated :) |
I tried emailing to one of the accounts on the server and i receiuved the same even when tyring to send emails to it :
PERM_FAILURE: SMTP Error (state 9): 550 relaying to <user@hotst.com> prohibited by administrator |
figured it out...anyone that has the same prob you propably have another smtp server running
in my case i had not completely removed exim and for those people that need to remove exim without haivng all its dependencies uninstalled use this dpkg --force-depends --purge exim4 |
