32bit X on x86_64 kernel?

I know that it is possible to run 32bit applications on an x86_46 kernel - it must be since I have both a /lib and a /lib64 folder in my x86_64 installation.

However, is it also possible to run a 32bit version of X?

I'm asking because I've been told that my graphics card is only supported by 32bit X.
Maybe he really meant 32bit linux kernel - I'm currently finding out - and then there's no issue.

====================
Edit:

He has confirmed that 32bit X on x86_64 kernel should be supported - in theory, has never been tried.

If you give us more info we might be able to help more. Instead of getting your info from one person, you'd be getting it from...... a lot more. What video card do you have?

I have a Matrox Parhelia 128 - big mistake due to poor linux support, and lack of linux 64 suport.

The person I'm referring to is the moderator of the Linux forum at Matrox.

Heh, then I assume you're in good hands :p If a 32bit X.org doesn't run as standard on a 64bit system, then I'm guessing you could run it in a 32bit chroot. I've got no idea how to do that but I've seen it mentioned around here in regards to 64bit system so Google it and you should get some info :)

Ok, maybe I will open a thread in the fedora forum here, since I would like to use yum to remove the 64bit X and install 32bit X.
I just don't know exactly which packages to remove/add.

I opened this thread here, since I wanted to figure out first, if running 32bit X on a 64bit kernel is possible at all, so I won't ask stupid questions in the fedora forum. ;)
