Unhappy Cannot lilo...


i installed linux redhat 7.0 kernel 2.2.4 - 16 .When i run /sbin/lilo to update my kernel. I got this message.

Warning: Device 0x0307 exceeds cyclinder limit
Fatal : Sector 25267672 too large for linear mode (try 'lba32')
instead

my harddisk size is 10gb on a dell notebook
I try to install linux distro on the same hdd so many times( more then 10) format and install... everytime i will recieve the same message except for the number. Can anyone tel me how to fix it ?

It's basically saying put lba32 into your /etc/lilo.conf The reason is that this command, being the first line in the file, gets rid of the boot limitations of wanting to be below the 1024th cylinder on the harddrive. If you can put that line in you lilo.conf, that should help quite a bit. If RH7.0 is using an older version of LILO, just go and download the latest version 21.7.5? Can't remember exactly, then you'll be sure to have no problems.
