Question 2 linux on one harddisk

I installed winxp, then i installed Mandriva and got a list to chose from when i start the computer. Now i want to install Fedora on the same machine. I made a test on another machine. I installed win98 and then Fedora, but i didn't get the list to chose from. When my computer starts Fedora starts.
So now i wonder if Fedora is capable of managing other systems so that i get both winxp, Mandriva and Fedora list to chose from..

fc4 will add everythign it can find to grub, and even if it doesn't is really easy to add them to the grub menu afterwards. as long as you keep a boot disk for Mandriva spare there's no worst case scenario really, you'd just boot to Mandriva again and reinstall their bootloader. also if Mandriva is now using grub, you can just copy the entires in their grub.conf into the fedora one anyway.

The list is controlled by the bootloader--which is typically installed when you install Linux. You have at least two options:
1. Install Fedora, and then configure the Mandriva boot configuration file so that it will link also to the Fedora install
2. Let Fedora install a bootloader. If all goes well, it will see windows and Mandriva, and automatically include them.

To dig a bit deeper, look at the grub manual (on the grub website)

Just to show the limits of what is possible, this is very entertaining:

(I'm not actually suggesting that you do what he did.... )
