2.6.0-test5 booting problem...

Hi. I recently switched from 2.4.20 to 2.6.0-test5 and I'm having a problem booting to my new kernel. My grub.conf kernel line reads

"kernel (hd2,0)/boot/bzImage root=/dev/hdd3"

but when I try to boot to it, I get an error that says

"Could not find 'hdd3' or hdd3. Please set your "root=" boot parameter correctly."

I'm a complete beginner with this sort of stuff, so please ask if you need more information. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Is your hard disk really on The secondary IDE cable as the Slave ?
and the boot partition is third on that disk?

Double check that it's the right partition.

Well, hdb is my cdrom drive and hdc is an extra vfat hard drive for the stuff me and my mother share between Windows and Linux. It used to boot from 2.4.20, but I never had to specify a root option...

No, sorry, I can't... I accidentally overwrote my backup bzImage because I forgot to mount the boot partition before I moved it.
