Set proxy in evolution mail client (fedora 3)

Hi all,
I set up gmail account in evolution mail client. I works fine at home but not at work because there is a proxy at work. Is there a way to set up the proxy in evolution or in whereever so that I can get gmail to work at work. I saw couple of links that says set http_proxy=http:///.... in .bashrc. Tried that and did not work. Tried Applications/Preferences/Network Proxy and did not work.

My os is Fedora 3. All updates are installed using "yum update". Appreciate your helps.

Please do not post the same thread in more than one forum. Picking the most relevant forum and posting it once there makes it easier for other members to help you and keeps the discussion all in one place.
