[SOLVED] Trouble installing Virtualbox Guest Additions.

Hello all,
I am trying to install VirtualBox Guest Additions into Turnkey linux on Windows 7. (i.e. Windows host, TKL guest). I am using VBox 4.0.4 and followed these instructions.
It went fine till installing module-assistant but when I mounted the cdrom to install Guest additions, it didn't work.
Code:
root@lamp /media/cdrom# ./VBoxLinuxAdditions.run
Verifying archive integrity... All good.
Uncompressing VirtualBox 4.0.4 Guest Additions for Linux.........
VirtualBox Guest Additions installer
Removing installed version 4.0.4 of VirtualBox Guest Additions...
Removing existing VirtualBox DKMS kernel modules ...done.
Removing existing VirtualBox non-DKMS kernel modules ...done.
Building the VirtualBox Guest Additions kernel modules
The headers for the current running kernel were not found. If the following
module compilation fails then this could be the reason.
Building the main Guest Additions module ...done.
Building the shared folder support module ...fail!
(Look at /var/log/vboxadd-install.log to find out what went wrong)
Installing the Window System drivers ...fail!
tail /var/log/vboxadd-install.log gave me:
Code:
root@lamp /media/cdrom# tail /var/log/vboxadd-install.log
/tmp/vbox.0/vfsmod.c:469:5: warning: initialization makes integer from pointer without a cast [enabled by default]
/tmp/vbox.0/vfsmod.c:469:5: warning: (near initialization for 'vboxsf_fs_type.fs_flags') [enabled by default]
/tmp/vbox.0/vfsmod.c:469:5: error: initializer element is not computable at load time
/tmp/vbox.0/vfsmod.c:469:5: error: (near initialization for 'vboxsf_fs_type.fs_flags')
cc1: some warnings being treated as errors
make[4]: *** [/tmp/vbox.0/vfsmod.o] Error 1
make[3]: *** [_module_/tmp/vbox.0] Error 2
make[2]: *** [sub-make] Error 2
make[1]: *** [all] Error 2
make: *** [vboxsf] Error 2
[Here's the complete file]
Could someone please tell me what's wrong?
TIA!

I can't tell you much more than:

Quote:
The headers for the current running kernel were not found
Which is the error your output is telling you about.

Take that, google it for your OS, and install your kernel headers. For rhel compatible linux its just "yum install kernel-devel" but i'm not sure what turnkey is.

Looks like they were already installed, and trying to re-install them removed them:
Code:
root@lamp /media/cdrom# ./VBoxLinuxAdditions.run
Verifying archive integrity... All good.
Uncompressing VirtualBox 4.0.4 Guest Additions for Linux.........
VirtualBox Guest Additions installer
Removing installed version 4.0.4 of VirtualBox Guest Additions...
Removing existing VirtualBox DKMS kernel modules ...done.
Removing existing VirtualBox non-DKMS kernel modules ...done.
Follow szboardstretcher's advice.

Thanks for the replies, guys!

It turns out that VB 4.0.4 is not compatible with the latest kernels. I installed 4.3 and it's working fine! I also needed to install dkms. Thanks, anyway! Cheers.
