Question [RedoBackup] A few newbie questions

Hello

I'm looking for a GUI-based alternative to Clonezilla and just gave RedoBackup a try.

Since its forum is pretty slow, I figured I might have more chance getting answers by asking here:
  1. Since Clonezilla and RB both rely on Partclone and Partimage, is the GUI the only difference between the two applications?
  2. Is there a way to get RB to start with a keyboard layout other than US?
  3. Is there a way to save a previous task instead of going through the multiple-screen procedure?
  4. The application doesn't seem to check the Cancel button; I had to reboot since "ps aux" shows a lot of apps running, and I didn't which task to kill

Thank you.

Afraid I don't know anything about your vacku problems but you say
"ps aux" shows a lot of apps running, and I didn't which task to kill
As on old SysV unix hand, I prefer he Sysv ps -ef
This gives you similar information butt crucially gives th pid and ppid (parent pid). In many cases you can kill the parent task and it takes the childen down with it.

On a relted topic, you can be lazy (if you ae careful) and use 'killall' commandname. For insance, when I ssh into my servers it times out and freezes my terminal if I leave it for more than a few minutes. Instead of looking for the pid I just killall ssh. (Make sure you don't have another insstance that you *don't* want to kill!)

[rant]This is going to only be tangential to your post and only because I've played enough games with all the poor Linux clone solutions. After weeks of playing games with the 5 software set I found I finally said puck it last night and just used dd it was faster and I didn't need to unmount the drive. I've had entirely to much heartache with Linux and cloning [/rant]
